A tale of Holiday travel woe.
This recent holiday, I flashed back to a Christmas past. The year was 1999, or maybe 2002, whatever, I don't remember. And it's not important. What is important was how I felt that holiday when American Airlines flew my new wife and I home to New York to spend a few rare days with my family.

It was cold that year and the airline was bustling with travelers excited to see kith and kin. We arrived at JFK Airport looking for our quick puddle-jumper leg up to Rochester. Instead, we got a 7-hour drive inside a van with non-functioning heat. Did I mention it was 20-degrees out and it was a seven hour ride?
Sure, they "compensated" us with a free voucher worth $300 good for another American Airline flight (wait, why does it have an expiration date?). The same way they compensate travelers who get bumped and put up in a nice, heated hotel room with free dinner (a choice they never offered us, btw). Hardly sufficient compensation, if you ask me.
But, to be fair, they did give the seven passengers in our van something more—namely, hypothermia.
Naturally I was upset about this and wrote to the airline telling our story and asking for further compensation for our sub-par treatment only to get rebuffed by the head of customer relations, who essentially told us: "Tough shit." Shocked by American Airlines' callous customer service, I wrote again. This time I was asked, "What part of 'Tough shit' don't you understand?" Such Holiday spirit.
These pleasant memories came flooding back to me this Christmas as I flew a 6-hour red-eye to see my wife's family inside an American Airlines airplane that had no heat. Yeah. That was fun.
As a result of their continued incompetence and indifference to customers' welfare, my wife and I rarely if ever fly American Airlines. And, as you can tell from this website, we travel a lot.
Instead, we fly United Airlines whenever possible, regardless of what Steve thinks. In my opinion, American Airlines can go suck it.

I have had the unfortunate opportunity of meeting some idiot pilots out of O'hare. These guys are losers, can't get women and will screw anything they can. They have no sexual preference so whatever is available is good to them. I am tired of pilots being glorified when they are no different than anyone else. The high and mighty attitude displayed should be saved for the airport. Truth is many are drunks, cheat on their wives, believe in abortions, etc.
A uniform means nothing. It is what is in the uniform as a person that counts. AA is a ridiculous airline and has no right to be arrogant. It is a failure among failures and the fact that execs got major bonuses this month after they did not put money into routine maintenance says it all. This airline is a scam for money and I am sure that current management knows more about 9/11 than they are letting on. Nazi regime.
My girlfriend decided that it was more important to maintain her Gold Status with American Airlines than flying back from SFO together on Virgin America. Both of our flights were delayed due to rain conditions in the New York. However, my VA flight, an Airbus 319, somehow miraculously had enough fuel to travel an extra hour to land at JFK whereas AA Flight 178 departed an hour earlier but had to re-fuel at Baltimore. The best part of this is that there is not an American personnel to be found at the Arrivals Level at Terminal 8. Zero information was given out on the Flight Information Displays other than that it was ON TIME. Airport terminal designers speak of the "terminal experience", it won't matter how well the terminals are designed, if the airlines cannot find a way to be what is expected of them, air travel will continue to be nothing more than a hassle. With the TSA and their ways of running their organization, the future of American air travel and reputation look grime.
It is now 1:05am in the morning, 3 hours after the ETA, still no sight of Flight 178.
This is no surprise. Poor customer service is an every day goal of AA. In flight service sucks as many of the stews are hags, rags and incompentent witches. The ones who are good are usually dismissed and the in-flight pilot entertainment is usually kept. Many of its pilots are pigs.
"Tough shit" That is a nice and professional response. American just grounded planes for faulty wiring that could have caused fuel tank explosions. When did they intend to fix these planes -- after an accident? Thank God the FAA came in an put its foot down when it did. What about the woman who asked the stew for oxygen and was denied? She is dead and we have learned that AA had empty oxygen tanks and a faulty defibrillator. It also had a masturbating male passenger who the stews saw change seats and they said nothing and did not help when the woman awoke with sperm in her hair. Who is paying attention at 37,000 feet? Absolutely no one. I was assaulted by a crew of idiots and AA did nothing. I will never fly this line again. I feel sorry for the good employees who are getting the shaft and for the passengers who are paying to fly on an airline that doesn't give a damn about anything except money. AA doesn't even think enough of life to do routine maintenance on faulty wiring without a push from the FAA. AA close your doors and leave the flying to professionals because you stink. The devil is in the air
Yes, American Airline sucks, and suck and sucks. They suck so bad that some of the pilots out of O'hare suck each other --yes, I have seen them. If they are not sucking each other they are playing with a tranny by the name of Julie who has a 8 year old mentality and a two year old physique. American Airlines pilots are rapist and racist scum.
Agreed.
